New Build Hasegawa Hawker Typhoon IB

Hi everyone,

I am about to embark on my first new build in quite some time. This time it is going to be the 1/48 scale Hasegawa Hawker Typhoon IB bubble top. I am going to be modelling a late Typhoon that was flown by F/L Hugh Fraser  of 439 Squadron RCAF who shot down two FW 190's and an ME-262 in early 1945 whilst flying aircraft 5V-X called Nicky.
To model a late Typhoon I added some mandatory upgrades such as a four bladed prop and larger tail surfaces known as tempest tail planes. Optional upgrades are the Airies cockpit, exhausts, wheel set from Barracuda. I also found a set of decals for Nicky which were hard to come by but I did manage to get my hands on them. This aircraft will be loaded out with bombs instead of rockets as was the practice in Canadian Typhoon squadrons.

M4A3(75)W Sherman U.S. 3rd Armoured Division

It's been a long while since I updated my blog. I have been back at it and working on my M4A3 Sherman from the U.S. 3rd armoured division adding some additional weathering and stowage to the tank. Here are a few pictures of my progress. Hope you like it.

Panther 214

Here is my completed Panther G from 2./ SS Panzer Regiment 1, 1SS Panzer Division during the Battle of the Bulge. This Panther represents Uscha. Rech's Panther 214 that took part in the assault on Stoumont, Belgium. The figure of Rech is holding his personal scissors binoculars which he used during the battle. Panther 214 can be seen in various films of the battle of Stoumont which show its dangling schurzen on the left side and another schurzen lying across the top of the turret. Various pictures of this tank can be seen in the popular book Duel in the Mist vol.1
