1/32 Revell Spitfire MKIIa

This project is nearing its end. I have to make some final weathering touch and attach the antennas, mast, pitot and canopies. I will then work on the Resin RAF Pilot to go with it.

Tough Sledding

So, progress on my Revell Spitfire is coming along and I am inching ever closer to the finish line. It's hard to believe it's been over year since I started that build. That's just much, much longer than I had anticipated for building this particular model. Really, a year has passed and I only managed to finish one model, a Tiger I late and I still have to add some figures and a base for it. A large part of the lack of progress has been my motivation. It simply hasn't been there. Why? well there's been a few things that transpired over the last year in my personal life that just kicked the shit out my motivation. Beginning in 2017 I lost my Dad. He had been sick since November 2016 and with all the hospital visits and stress of dealing with a dying father my motivation took a serious hit. I got some respite when I took the family away to Punta Cana in May but then my wife's Grandfather died shortly after we returned from vacation. Then there was some fall out from my Dad's will among family members which caused some strife within my extended family. My Wife's Grandmother died in November and my wife had to go out west and help her Mom. Then we lost our dog over the holidays. You know I never fancied myself a dog person but when we lost him it really hit me hard. I spent the most time with him and we had a close bond.

So, its been a tough year but what has me more motivated to get back into the hobby has been the new job I recently started and the fact we are getting a new puppy. I am feeling better about 2018 and I sure hope it is a hell of a lot better than 2017. I am approaching life from a more hopeful and positive perspective and I expect this to be partially reflected in my increasing body of work and updates I post on my builds.

Love you buddy. Hope to see you again in another life.
